Classroom Photos
I have finally taken some pictures of my Kindergarten classroom. The pictures include some of my favorite centers. I have also posted a picture of the wall outside of the classroom of our bears. My teaching assistant did a great job on the bears. The children love comparing how big the bears are to each other.

This weeks happenings
This week we are finishing up Penguins and Winter. We are also working on activities on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I am also posting a Camping Unit on Teachers Pay Teachers. We are going to include this unit along with Real Bears next week. The Camping unit included many activities for balanced literacy and math. I have also included an emergent reader about Little Bear goes fishing. I hope to post this Wednesday. I have also posted on TpT a Groundhogs Day pack. There is a recording sheet to work on inference during Guided Reading or small groups. I have also included an emergent reader about the groundhog predicting the start of spring. Hope you enjoy the packets. I will post a picture soon.

Back to School
Today is our first day back to school since Christmas. We had a snow day on Tuesday. Icy roads canceled school. All my 22 kiddos were glad to be back. We started our Penguin unit. Our class read aloud today was If you could go to the Antarctica. I have also started a chapter book in the afternoon with my students. We began Mr. Popper's Penguins. The children enjoyed Chapter 1. We made connections to our class book about the Antarctica with Mr. Popper. We also made a chart listing r-controlled words from the book. My favorite today was making a father and baby penguin to go along with the poem, My Father's Feet. We used the penguin project and poem from First Grade Blue Skies TpT store. I will post a picture of our projects.
