SNOWFLAKE code on Donor's Choose

Thank You so much to the Bill Gates Foundation for doubling any donations made to Donor's Choose accounts of teachers this week. My class is in need of Hands on Reading centers for literacy and our project is only $129 away from being funded. The kiddos will be so excited when we come back from the holidays.

Donor's Choose Project

I posted my first Donor's Choose project this week. I am excited about the opportunity that this project can bring to my classroom. The project is titled Math Fun Our Way in Kindergarten. My little mathematicians need a class set of Ten Frames, large rekenrek and counting materials. I have 5 second language learners who need these hands on materials. Hopefully we can fund this project. Anyone interested can use the Code Spark until Dec. 6 to get us double funding.

Busy January 2015

I am back at school Monday, January 5. I am ready for a busy month in January. Hopefully the weather will hold off and not have too much snow.
To Do List:
1. January Mclass testing Jan 7-30 (letters, first sounds, segementation, nonsense words, sight words, and reading levels!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Math Assessments (counting AMC math, Changing numbers AMC math, and DPI Unit assessments
3. REVIEW, REVIEW letters Monday and Tuesday
  ** Roll and Read Letters
** Letters in Journals ( I use Tara West Interactive Alphabet journals)
** Share letters booklet ( students have mini letter booklets with letters on page. Read to self, share with friend and share with teacher. color a picture on page each time they share.

4. Make Sight Word Sticker Booklets. Students have a mini booklet for each sight word that I am trying to push before testing. Ex. Come - students write on page Come see the _____. Choose a sticker and write the sentence filling in the name of the sticker. Make do as many pages as they would like to finish with that sight word in centers. I will try to post a copy of my booklets.

5. Make Globes from balloons, newspaper and flour. Great for our continents unit. Will post a picture.

Long post but if I get it down on paper it helps my thinking.
